Over Labor Day, the kids and I headed to the Best Western Kelly Inn in Plymouth for a mini-staycation. It’s a mid-size hotel with a Green Mill restaurant and the Plymouth Playhouse both attached. I had a business relationship with this hotel in the past,  I often recommended them for guests coming into town for my organization. I remembered how awesome the swimming pool area is – specifically for small children and thought it would be great for me and my kiddos.

Most hotel pools are for “big kids,” and might have a tiny little area for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Yet, as you can see from the pic above, this hotel has a large area for little kids, complete with a slide (that giant swan) and other items. It’s about waist high for my three year old, which is just perfect.

On the other side of the room is a deeper pool, complete with two water slides. My 6 year old was just barely old enough to go into that side of the pool, as long as he had me with him. But the little kid pool was so perfect because, for the first time ever, I was able to sit OUTSIDE the pool, in a chair, watching them. WOW, it was awesome. 🙂 There is also a hot tub in the same area.

We were lucky enough to snag a pool side room – which was comfortable and just perfect for our threesome. I brought food from home and we watched movies on the iPad. The kids had a FABULOUS time – and it was the first time I ever heard the words, “Mom, I’m tired of swimming.”

If you have little ones and are looking for something a bit more manageable than the big waterparks, I definitely recommend this hotel. You can see the rest of the pool here.

Over-disclosure: I did not receive a comp stay at the hotel or any payment for this post. I had a high opinion of them from past experiences and chose to bring my family there and paid full price. I will definitely be returning as well!
