I’m in love with my new cell phone. It’s sitting next to me right now and I will even confess to bringing it to bed with me. It’s sooo cool and sooo fun and I just can’t break away from it.
It’s the new LG DARE with touchscreen from Verizon. I can surf the net on the wide screen, e-mail, text, send photo and video clips to family, read all my friends blogs… (but writing my own blog posts takes a while to type – even though the full QWERTY touchscreen keyboard is wicked cool).
I’m digging the touchscreen technology and all the customizable features. Like the favorites screen (see left) for my top 9 contacts, replacing the old-school speed dial. It’s fun touching the picture of the person I want to call and dragging their picture to the ‘text’ or ‘call’ button on the bottom. Like all new technology, it has a learning curve – such as figuring out how to touch the screen just right so you hit the button you want and not the one next to it. Overall I’m just giddy with this phone and had to tell you why I haven’t been posting much. I’ve been in bed with my phone. Man that sounds lame.

Hey – you could be in bed with other things… glad it’s your phone. Lame-o! Just kidding. I would be prety excited about something like that too. I’m such a kid when it comes to new stuff. I still get excited about new clothes!

I miss having my touch screen phone, but definitely like a lot of the blackberry features.
I think my next phone might be a blackberry that has touch screen!

Neat toy! You would laugh if I showed you my cell phone. They don’t even make them anymore. No! They’re not those awkward bread box looking phones from the 80s. It is newer than that!

ooh, that looks really nice. I love my BlackBerry Pearl but may go all out next time for an iPhone or even the DARE (or whatever it’ll be in 2 years!). I am addicted to my BlackBerry so there’s no stopping me!

One of my high school kids from church has one of those, and she was glued to it all weekend. I can see why you’re addicted. For the two or three minutes she parted with it over the course of the three days we were together, it was a lot of fun!
I’ve had the same phone since 2003. It barely works. I can only use polyphonic ringtones ( you know just the music ). I’ll be totally psyched to get anything new- although I will say that my phone is pretty much indestructible. I’ve soaked it in water and dropped it a million times…maybe I should stick with it… I’m a klutz
