It’s finally summer in Minnesota, and I’m always on the hunt for new, fun, educational activities for the kiddos and I to try on the weekends. This weekend we headed out to Apple Jack Orchards in Delano, MN, with my friend Jenny (who loves sushi as much as I do) and her family. Here are some pics from the day:

Strawberry season is relatively short, only a few weeks, so be sure to call or check web sites before heading out of town. At Apple Jacks, they charged by the pound. The tractor ride was $2 per kid, and the big yellow “air pillow” (for jumping) was $3 per person (it was super fun!). Also, there is a shop & deli/bakery across the street where you can get sandwiches, etc. This place was pretty quaint and didn’t feel commercial like some of the big, popular “destination farms.”
We left with a few pounds of strawberries, smiles all around, and memories to last forever. I even said to Alex on the way home, “Some day, when you are 35 like me, you’ll remember going strawberry picking… and how much fun we had.” I really hope he does.
Some strawberry patches in MN to check out:
Apple Jack Orchards in Delano
Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake
Bauer Berry Farm in Champlin
Berry Hill Farm in Anoka
The Berry Patch in Forest Lake
Wyatt’s Strawberries in Hastings
All pics taken with my new iPhone (I’m impressed with the quality). These opinions are my own, I was not compensated in any way for this post.

Wonderful day today with you and the kids! Would do it again in a second!
I haven't picked strawberries in years! Yum!
Half the photos on my blog come from my iPhone. Most people can't tell which is a regular camera and which is the phone, and I love it that way.
Berry picking is one of my most favorite things to do. I am partial to blueberry picking in August and do that every year at a farm in Maiden Rock WI. Just me, the fresh air and a gorgeous drive. It's a 'recharge' time for me.
I’ve never thought to visit a picking farm. I might have to give it a try this year!
I'm going here tomorrow, mostly based on your suggestion! So excited. My 3 year old is gonna love it! (and mama too)
How fun! I've never picked strawberries, but I'd love it try it.
